Recognition of Excellence in Jazz Education The Eau Claire Jazz Festival is committed to providing a quality educational experience. Many different clinics will be held throughout the day that are open to all students/directors and visitors. Students and directors will be provided a clinic schedule and clinic tracking sheet at the festival and it will also be posted online closer to the festival days. This year, we will recognize not only students but a school as well. The school who has the highest percentage of their students attending the greatest number of clinics will be recognized with an award. On Saturday, Directors will receive clinic tracking sheets – enough for all the students. Directors are asked to give each student one sheet to record the clinics they attend. When a student attends a clinic or master class, the room host will check off their clinic sheet to document attendance. Students attending 3 or more clinics will receive an individual certificate when they turn in their tracking card. To obtain their certificate, students must turn in the clinic tracking sheet* to the registration table in Zorn Arena right before the 4:30pm concert. School recognition will be announced at the Awards Announcements beginning at 5:15pm. This recognition is based on the student tracking sheets turned in at the table at Zorn Arena.
Recognition Levels School Recognition:
*To qualify towards total school score, a student needs to attend a minimum of 3 clinics. Schools obtain points based on the number of clinics per student and total percentage of students who qualified with a minimum of 3 clinics.
Individual Recognition:
Please encourage your students to participate in the clinics and to pursue these learning opportunities. They are sure to be engaging and fun! *Students are responsible for their Clinic Sheet.
