UW-Eau Claire Jazz I is "Best College Big Band"

EAU CLAIRE - UW-Eau Claire Jazz Ensemble I was named "Best College Jazz Ensemble" in the nation on April 27 by DownBeat Magazine as part of the 33rd Annual Student Music Awards.
Jazz Ensemble I has received the DownBeat award six times since 1996 for "Best College Jazz Ensemble" as well as eight individual DownBeat Awards for solos, performances, arrangements and studio recordings. Read Full Story

Upcoming jazz concerts to serve as CD release party and New York fundraiser

EAU CLAIRE - Keeping the sounds of jazz alive, the Eau Claire community is set to host several upcoming jazz concerts next week. Under the direction of Brian Claxton and Corey Cunningham, UW-Eau Claire Jazz Ensemble IV will perform in a free concert Wednesday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. UW-Eau Claire Jazz Ensemble I, under the direction of Robert Baca, will perform Thursday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. Both concerts will be held in the Gantner Concert Hall in Haas Fine Arts on the university campus. Eau Claire Jazz Inc. receives state tourism grant

EAU CLAIRE — Eau Claire Jazz Inc. has received a $27,933 Joint Effort Marketing grant from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism to promote the Eau Claire Jazz Festival.
